TikTok increases maximum video length to 10 minutes

TikTok is increasing the maximum length of videos users can upload on the platform – more than tripling it, to 10 minutes.


TikTok is moving to let creators make longer-form videos as rivals like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram have aggressively built out their own TikTok-like short-form video features. It’s not clear how many TikTokers will take advantage of the longer-form videos but the change clearly shows that the company is eager to facilitate ways to keep viewers in the app for longer periods of time.


Zalando Implications


This could be worth following for Zalando as it could provide another platform the brand to release its own branded long-form videos to reach a different audience segment, and if the feature is a success it could keep users on the platform for longer and potentially reduce time spent on other platforms that already have longer form videos.
