Spotify pledges $100m fund for under-represented creators

In the latest instalment of the Spotify-Rogan saga, CEO Daniel Ek sent out a company memo on Sunday 6th February and declared that Spotify will invest $100 million in the licensing, development and marketing of music and audio content from historically marginalised groups.
Whilst born out of controversy this $100m fund is a significant injection into the creation and promotion of music, but perhaps more significantly podcasting, for marginalised groups. For context this is the same amount of money that Spotify paid to Joe Rogan for his exclusive content deal and could see a swathe of new podcast content available on the platform in the future.
