Meta testing tools to give brands choice over where their ads place
Meta will begin testing new content tools designed to give advertisers control over where their ads are shown on Facebook and Instagram feeds. This will allow companies to prevent their ads being placed next to unsuitable content, something that has happened to some brands with content including news on Ukraine.
The company is testing this feature in the second half of 2022 with aims to roll it out fully in 2023.
This could be an interesting tool to follow. Many brands are voicing concerns at their products appearing next to unfavourable content and these extra controls could prevent any unnecessary press in the future and could also improve targeting particular users, with content only appearing in the most relevant of places.
